Northern Ohio Backyard Go Kart Series

The Northern Ohio Backyard Kart series, formerly the IDIOTS Series, was born out of the need to bring the fun back into competitive dirt oval kart racing. Founders Tony Beaber and Clay Kirchenbauer found the cost of racing at the “professional” tracks to be expensive and the long days of waiting for 12 different divisions to race sucked the fun out of the sport. And when there’s money on the line tempers can flair! With the NOBK league there is no entry fee, no pit pass charge, no spectator fee and no purse. There is only one division.. Drivers race for the fun of it and at the end of the day the winner gets a trophy.

The 2026 season consists of 6 events at different backyard tracks throughout Northwest Ohio. League costs, portable toilets and trophies are funded by the series sponsor Berger Landscaping & Construction and the many individual race sponsors.
