Track owners make it 2 for 2 this year as Josh Haynes sweeps the day taking quick time, his heat race, pill redraw, and the feature win. Haynes led all 25 laps, though not my much, to secure his first ever IDIOTS series victory. Disaster almost struck with a few laps to go, as his throttle cable was broken, and he finished the race operating the throttle with his hand on the linkage. Haynes was able to hold off Troy Halbeisen through the last few laps. After a 6 kart pileup early in the race, things settled a bit through a long green flag run, which saw lots of passing and side by side through the field. Greg Phillips saw his promising run cut short early with a broken bumper, and Clay Kirchenbauer rebounded from almost flipping over to finish 7th from his 14th place starting spot. Moe Wilson and Chris meadows capped off a strong day with their best career finishes, and Points leader Tony Beaber brought it home 5th.
The IDIOTS Series resumes action on Sept 2 at a track to be named soon.
